Porcelain decorating workshop
New life of old plates.
After participating in residency in Centrum Nauki i Sztuki Stara Kopalnia organized by ASP Wrocław we’ve had an idea to create a workshop around the old bisque-fired plates from once very famous porcelain factory - Fabryka Porcelany Wałbrzych.
Creative part of the event was preceded by a lecture on the history of cobalt-decorated ceramics, showcasing objects dating from IX century to the present times.
During the workshop participants were asked to make an abstract commemorative plate using a variety of decorating techniques such as; stamping, brush work using variety of objects that could serve as such, splashing and sgraffito.
After decorating, each pieces was glazed and fired in a high temperature.

Bisque-fired pieces were donated by Centrum Nauki i Sztuki Stara Kopalnia. Event was a part of an exhibition “Głos Kobiet” hosted by Galeria Yes in Poznań.
