Her field of work ranges from developing products, ceramic research and ceramic workshops, providing product design education to creative consultancy.She values design strategies that&nbsp; lead to sustainable product development as well as projects that are rooted in local landscapes and traditions . Projekt ma na celu ukazanie w jaki sposób można kreować wartość produktu poprzez lokalność. Sen o regionie to projekt wykorzystujący nieoczywiste zasoby najbliższego otoczenia. PL / &nbsp; Projekt Sen o Regionie to wykonane we własnej pracowni na poznańskim Junikowie, wielofunkcyjne obiekty, służące m.in. do przechowywania oraz serwowania składników posiadających znak dziedzictwa kulinarnego – oleju rydzowego, lnianego oraz soli kłodawskiej. Projekt zakładał wykonanie limitowanej ilości zestawów, przy użyciu technik manualnych (toczenie na kole, odlewanie, szlifowanie, szkliwienie, wypał Raugo etc.). Jest to założenie, które pozwala na zapanowanie nad każdym elementem procesu wytwórczego i wpisuje się w idee slow design / emotionally sustainable design. W projekcie zostało wykorzystane autorskie szkliwo „recyklingowe”, wykonane z udziałem popiołów z bio odpadów z poznańskiej spalarni odpadów EKO-ZEC. W kolekcję wpleciona została także stara technika wypału Raugo (inaczej Obvara), stosowana przez ludy bałtyckie. Jej niezwykła estetyka, historia, element widowiskowy wypału plenerowego, znikome wykorzystanie we współczesnym wzornictwie były przyczynkiem do wykorzystania jej w serii naczyń. Kopułowa „nakładka” na wazon została wypalona we własnoręcznie zbudowanym piecu gazowym oraz zanurzona w zakwasie chlebowym, dostarczonym przez piekarza z Poznania – Piotra Lasika z poznańskiej kawiarni Bardzo. Konceptualnym założeniem projektu jest zestawienie ze sobą dwóch światów – tradycji (wypał Raugo – wykorzystanie zakwasu chlebowego z lokalnej piekarni) ze współczesnym&nbsp;wątkiem miejskim (szkliwo z odpadów – wykorzystanie popiołu z zakładu Eko-Zec). ENG/ "Regional dreaming” is a tableware collection made in a ceramic workshop in Poznań's Junikowo district. Collection consists of multifunctional objects, designed for various purposes, including: storage and serving ingredients with a culinary heritage status, such as camelina oil, flaxseed oil, and Kłodawa salt. This project involved creating a limited quantity of sets using manual techniques (wheel throwing, casting, burnishing, glazing, Raugo firing, etc.). This approach allowed for complete control over every element of the production process and aligns with the principles of slow design and emotionally sustainable design. Collection involves a recycling glaze made with ash from bio-waste at the EKO-ZEC waste incineration plant in Poznań. Additionally, the collection incorporates the ancient Raugo firing technique (also known as Obvara) used historically by Baltic tribes-----&gt; READ MORE. Its unique aesthetics, history, and the spectacular outdoor firing process, combined with its limited use in contemporary design, were reasons for incorporating it into the series of vessels. The domed "topper" on the vase was fired in a handmade gas kiln and immersed in sourdough provided by Poznań-based baker Piotr Lasik from Bardzo café. The conceptual premise of the project is to combine two worlds: tradition (Raugo firing and the use of local bakery sourdough) with a contemporary, urban trope (glaze from waste materials using ash from the EKO-ZEC facility). These compositions are created from bisque-fired tiles which, after firing at approximately 900°C, are immersed in sourdough starter and sprinkled with sugar. Firing thus becomes not only a technological process, but also a carrier of meaning, a record of fermentation, transformation, and time. The use of sourdough and sugar refers directly to my genealogy: I am the great-granddaughter of Polish emigrants who worked on sugar beet farms on the Danish island of Falster, and the granddaughter of a baker and a confectioner. Fermentation becomes, for me, a shared denominator linking bread, yeast, and sugar. The sourdough starter used in this process was kindly provided by a local baker, Mr. Czesław Jurgiel, whose bread oven has been in continuous operation since 1937. The object embraces asymmetry and celebrates the quiet richness found in natural forms. A playfull wooden cork has been added to create contrast between the glossy, pale-blue surface of the bottle. The object was created for a special dinner at Concordia Taste in Poznań, where local ingredients and contemporary cuisine were thoughtfully paired with Gala Gin. The aim of the design was to create more than just a vessel. The ceramic glass was intended to emphasize the ritual of drinking, offering a tactile experience that complemented the complexity of the spirit. The materiality of ceramics, with its subtle texture and weight, introduced an element of intimacy and craftsmanship that connected the guests to both the regional heritage of the gin and the handmade process behind the object itself. By integrating traditional craft with gastronomy, this project highlighted how design can shape sensory experiences and create a dialogue between the drink, the place, and the people sharing it. Each piece was made using either a wheel throwing or slip casting technique using clay. Some pieces were coloured using pigments and glazed and some pieces were fired in a low temperature in a handmade gas kiln and then dipped in a sourdough starter which burns an unique pattern into the surface of the object. This technique is an old, traditional firing from the Baltics, called Raugo or Obvara. Pieces of the incense burner are meant to become more and more dark and charred over the time of using. With the time passing, ashes left by incense sticks and scented cones enrich the natural, smoke-like aesthetics of the Raugo firing. The object gets more seasoned and transform with each burning session, using aging and passing time to its advantage. Objects designed as a part of a research on polish grayware (siwaki), conducted in Czarna Wieś Kościelna. History &nbsp; &nbsp; Grayware is a prehistoric firing technique which was popularised in Poland in XIII and XIV century. During several visits to Paweł Piechowski’s workshop we were able to get to know the details of the technique used by generations of potters in that region. Gosia being born in Suwałki and having her grandmother in a nearby city of Czarna Białostocka was already familiar with Paweł and other potters from Czarna Wieś Kościelna. I was the one gasping in astonishment at every anecdote and piece of information recieved. We were introduced to the tools and equipment involved in the making of the gray pottery, including an impressively large, entirely hand-built kiln. Today, there is only handful of Polish potters that are still manufacturing siwaki.&nbsp; Vessels made by those potters are usually bearing a strong resemblance to the aesthetics of the past and being sold at craft fairs as a local souvenirs. Czarna Wieś Kościelna and Medynia Głogowska are places in which one can still see dark smoke coming from the coniferous wood being fired in a traditional kiln. Design process&nbsp; &nbsp; Our aim was to escape antiquated aesthetics and create a modern, functional object, that highlights properties of clay. That’s how Tilt&nbsp; collection was born. We kept in mind that we need to come up with a design that is suitable to be manufactured on a pottery wheel. Since we were also focusing on the breathable properties of the material, plant pots came to mind.&nbsp; Each pot size is assigned with a specific tilt of the form. Joined together, the angular sides are creating a rythm. Each pot has a drainage is accompanied by a saucer that gathers an excess water. Pots come in 3 sizes:Small /&nbsp; H:11cm, D:12cmMedium /&nbsp; H:20cm, D:14cmLarge / H:26cm, D: 26cm Unique, dark color of the pots highlights lively greenery of the plants, bringing this ancient technique to the contemporary interior.&nbsp; Every object is being wheelthrown, carefully dried and burnished. Than fired in a traditional kiln, using coniferous wood, usually pine. That type of wood, due to being very resinous, creates the desired smoke intensity which is crucial to the process. After reaching the apropriate temperature inside the kiln, reduction process begins with restricing the flow of incoming air by covering the holes situated at the top part of the kiln. In reduction firings, ferric oxides (Fe2o3) become ferro-ferric (Fe3o4) oxide or ferrous oxide (FeO) and convert ceramic vessels to a deep, dark, graphite-like, silverish hue. Each object is different from the other.&nbsp; Appearances vary depending on the placement of the object inside the kiln (closer or further from the source of heat), type of clay and wood used during the fring and if the vessls were touching each other. Loading the kiln, firing and cooling process takes up to a week. Temperature of the kiln during the firing is assesed by thermometer but also, very importantly, by the trained eye of the pottery master.
